The distance of  Akport Tekirdağ Port to the closest rail station Muratlı is 25 km. However, the railway project between Tekirdağ- Muratlı which was planned before but cannot be taken to investment plan because of lack of sources was taken to agenda. It is decided to be built by alienating the necessary budget. The completion date of project that is tendered in November 2006 is the end of June 2009.  .

When this project is completed, Akport will become the only port having railway connection that is located at European side of Marmara Region.
